Google is adding an option to delete older files in your Chromebook’s Trash folder automatically.
Auto Delete Files from Chrome OS Trash

From the barebones beginnings, the Files app in Chrome OS has come a long way. It still lacks a bunch of basic features that we get to enjoy on Windows and macOS, but it is usable at the moment.
Google is adding one more small feature to make things a tiny bit better for Chrome OS users. Soon, the Files app will automatically delete older files in the Trash folder.
The code change to add an experimental flag for auto cleanup showed up in the Chromium Gerrit repository today.
Trash auto cleanup: Enable background cleanup for old files in Trash.
It usually takes a few weeks for newer features to show up in the Chrome OS Developer channel to start testing. If you are using the stable channel of Chrome OS, it is going to be a longer wait.
For now, sit back and relax, and this feature will land on your Chromebook’s Files app in a future update.
