  1. The fix for my Error Code: Status_Benchmark crashes in Edge and Chrome was to right click on the icon for each program and select Properties/Compatibility/Run compatibility troubleshooter. After the troubleshooter ran, I selected “test settings”. I copied and pasted a link which had consistently crashed Edge & Chrome and now no crash. The troubleshooter indicated the problem was in incompatible program and it is now fixed.

  2. Only have this problem with Edge, not with Chrome. Interestingly, it only occurs when Edge is set as the default Web browser in Windows settings. If I set Chrome as the default, yet open Edge and navigate to the offending webpage, the error does not present.

  3. I had the issue and nothing helped by trying all the tips that I found… Newtab, parameters, about chrome, extensions, favorites, none of the menus were accessibles. I always had this page with the status_breakpoint code error.
I fixed this by going to the flags page (chrome://flags/) and click on the “reset all” button

  4. Just change the Google account Password the browser is using —
