Chrome on Android lets you use split-screen with an Incognito window, but not everyone wants that option around. Whether you’re setting up a shared phone or just want to limit Incognito access, you can turn it off using a Chrome flag.

Disable Incognito Split-Screen in Chrome for Android
- Open Chrome on your Android device.
- Tap the address bar and type
chrome://flags, then tap Go. - Tap the Search flags box at the top and type
incognito. - Look for the flag called Android Incognito Split Screen.
- Tap the dropdown next to it and select Disabled.
- Tap the Relaunch button at the bottom of the screen.
Chrome will restart, and the Incognito split-screen option will no longer be available.
Good to Know
- This change only affects split-screen with Incognito windows. Regular split-screen still works.
- If you ever want to turn it back on, go to the same flag and set it back to Default or Enabled.
- Chrome flags can reset after a major browser update, so you may need to repeat these steps after Chrome updates.
You’ve successfully turned off Incognito split-screen in Chrome for Android. It only takes a minute, and reversing it is just as easy if you change your mind later.
