How to Use Google Gemini from Chrome’s Adressbar (@gemini)

Gemini Integration with Chrome

Google is currently testing an integration between Chrome and Gemini, their ChatGPT competitor. You can now use a shortcut, @gemini, from your addressbar.

Here is how to use Gemini with Google Chrome.

Using Gemini with Chrome

Before we get started, this is an experimental feature. Google is currently testing this new feature. Things might change between now and the final release of Gemini integration for Chrome.

First, let’s enable a two Chrome flags.

Go to chrome://flags and enable the following two flags:

  • Expansion pack for the Site search starter pack
  • IPH message for the Site search starter pack

Restart Google Chrome.

You are now ready to use the @gemini shortcut. Give it a try. Open a new tab and type @gemini followed by a question for Google’s AI.

Gemini Integration with Chrome

For example, @gemini, what’s the best restaurent near me. Chrome opens Gemini, along with your query.

You can use similar queries to search your bookmarks (@bookmarks) history (@history) and open tabs (@tabs).

Give this a try and let me know how this goes. I would love to hear your feedback on Google’s Gemini integration with Chrome.
