Link Preview on Chrome

Google Chrome allows you to preview links before opening them. In this article, I’ll show you how to use link previews on your browser.

The Flag

Link Previews is an experimental feature at the moment. Enable the following flag from chrome://flags and restart Chrome to get started.

Link Preview – When enabled, Link Preview feature gets to be available to preview a linked page in a dedicated small window before navigating to the linked page. The feature can be triggered from a context menu item, or users’ actions. For now, Alt + Click is used for the shortcut, but we will introduce more options for usability study. – Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Fuchsia, Lacros.

This may not be available on the stable version of Google Chrome yet. If you do not see this flag on Chrome, wait for a few more weeks and try again.

Using Link Previews

After enabling the flag, right-click any link and choose Preview link to view a preview of the link in a pop-up screen.
