How to Enable Battery Saver On Your Chromebook

Chromebook Battery Saver Toggle

Google recently added a battery saver mode to Chrome OS. It is still under development. However, following the Chrome Story tradition of bringing this early, here is how to enable the battery saver.

Note: Battery saver is a work-in-progress feature and is available on the Dev channel.

Enabling Battery Saver on a Chromebook

To enable battery saver mode:

  1. Open the Settings app from the menu.
  2. From the left pane, select Device.
  3. On the Device page, select Power.
  4. Enable the Battery Saver toggle.

You have now enabled the Chromebook battery-saver mode. I would love to see this as a quick toggle available in the notification area. Also, a new icon or an updated battery icon to show the battery saver is enabled will be welcome too.

What do you think? Ready to take this for a spin?
