Hide Usernames and Photos On Chromebook Login Screen

Looking for an additional security measure for your Chromebook? Hide login IDs and photos on your Chromebook’s login screen.

The first step in gaining access to your account is knowing your username. By hiding your username from the login screen, you can add an extra layer of security.

This is not really user friendly, but if you are worried about security, this is a step worth considering.

Here is how:

  1. Go to Settings > People > Manage Other People
  2. Slide Show usernames and photos on the sign-in screen to off.
  3. Logout and check your login screen.

You will not see any accounts listed on your login screen. Enter your email address and password to log in.

If you have two-step authentication turned on, you will need to complete that step too, to log in.

Sounds like something that you’ll enable? Try this out and share your feedback in the comments section.
