Unfortunately, once you remove a most visited site from Chrome’s new tab page, there’s no direct “undo” button. But here are a few ways you can bring it back:
Method 1: Visit the Site Repeatedly
Chrome auto-generates your most visited sites based on browsing history.
- Visit the site multiple times over the next day or two.
- It should automatically reappear on the new tab page.
Method 2: Add It Manually as a Shortcut

If you don’t want to wait:
- Open a new tab in Chrome.
- Hover over the “+ Add shortcut” button below the search bar.
- Click it, then:
- Name: Give the shortcut a name.
- URL: Enter the site’s address (e.g.,
https://example.com).
- Click Done.
Method 3: Clear the Hidden Sites
Chrome hides removed sites in its local data. You can reset this:
⚠️ This will remove all most visited thumbnails and start fresh.
- Close Chrome.
- Open File Explorer and go to:
C:\Users\<YourUser>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
- Delete the file:
Top Sites - Restart Chrome.
Now, visit your favorite sites again, and Chrome will start rebuilding your most visited list.
