Are you tired of all those notifications from websites on Google Chrome? Google wants to help you. The Chrome team is working on a new notification settings page to help you manage notifications and block unwanted notifications.
Notification Interaction History
According to a new experimental flag that I spotted today, Chrome is getting a new page to manage notifications from websites.
Notification Interaction History: Enable recording notification count and interaction.
At first, I thought this is a feature similar to Android’s notifications history. However, screenshots available on the Chromium page tell a slightly different story.
Notifications Review as Part of Saftey Check
During Safety Check, Chrome highlights websites that send you too many notifications.
When you click Review, Chrome gives you a list of websites that sent frequent notifications.
You can then either block notifications for specific websites or even change notification settings for the entire browser.
The new notification settings page will be available on chrome://settings/notifications.
I am not a big fan of desktop notifications from websites. However, if you regularly use them, this feature is going to be quite useful to you. You can easily review websites with notification permissions and remove them if you find any abusing the permission.
What do you think about this new feature? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
