Right Click Any Chrome Tab To Mute It

Here is something that showed up on Chrome OS developer channel update, a “mute” option for individual tabs. This feature showed up in the code base a couple of weeks back and we have this working in the Dev channel already.

Here is how it works.  You can right-click any tab including the empty new tab page and “mute” it. Once you mute it, the muted icon shows on the tab.

You can mute tabs while they are playing some audio as well. In other words, you can mute tabs before they make noise or after they start making noise.

When a tab has some audio playing, Chrome has a speaker icon displayed on that tab. You can now click this speaker icon to mute the tab if you are not into this right-clicking thingie.

Again, a very small but handy thing to have.
