Vids is an AI platform from Google that lets you create videos from a text prompt.

You can upload documents or write text prompts and let Vids come up with a video for you.

Vids in Chrome OS

A new experimental flag that we spotted in the Chromium code indicates that Google is planning to ship Chromebooks preinstalled with Vids. Here is the code change request that we came across today:

Vids app preinstall: Preinstalls the Vids app on ChromeOS.

That is straightforward and leaves no room for speculation. In the near future, Google will include Vids a built-in app in Chrome OS. This will make Chromebooks a bit more attractive in classroom and boardrooms alike.

It is safe to assume that Google might throw in a premium Vids subscription for a few months, free with some Chromebooks.

Excited? Let me know in the comments section below.

I believe Chromebooks are becoming too sophisticated, KISS!

Richard, they are still insanely simple yet the capability to do more is what is being added all over. It’s great.
