When you try to share your screen with Microsoft Teams in Chrome on a Mac, you may see a message asking you to allow screen recording. The option isn’t inside Chrome—it’s in your Mac’s system settings. Here’s how to unlock it.

Steps to Enable Screen Sharing for Chrome on Mac
- Open System Settings
- When the prompt appears, click Open System Settings.
- If you don’t see the prompt, you can go manually:
- Click the Apple menu in the top left.
- Select System Settings (or System Preferences on macOS Monterey or earlier).
- Go to Privacy & Security
- In the left sidebar, scroll down and choose Privacy & Security.
- Find Screen Recording
- Under Privacy, look for Screen Recording.
- Allow Chrome
- In the list of apps, find Google Chrome.
- Toggle the switch next to it on.
- If the switch is locked, click the lock icon in the bottom left corner and enter your Mac password or Touch ID.
- Restart Chrome
- Quit Chrome completely and reopen it.
- Go back to Teams and try sharing your screen again.
If you use multiple Chrome profiles, you only need to allow it once. After you grant permission, Teams should work with any Chrome window.
