Chrome’s ‘Pinned Tabs’ Coming to Android

One of my favorite Chrome features is “Pinned Tabs”. It lets me keep websites that I always want on my Chrome window. For example, I always have Feedly pinned and check for updates multiple times through the day.

Google is bringing this feature to the Android version of Chrome. Here is the experimental flag for this feature from Chromium Gerrit:

Android pinned tabs: Enables the ability to pin tabs through various entry points like context menus and overflow menu items.

The only additional information you get from this flag description is the placement of this new feature. You’ll be able to pinn a tab from the overflow menu (three dots) and context menus (long press the screen).

I am super excited for this new feature. If everything goes according to (Google’s) plan, we will see this in action in the Canary version of Chrome very soon. I’ll have a screenshot of how pinned tabs look like in Chrome as soon as the flag lands in Canary.

Are you looking forward to this feature? Let me know in the comments section below.
