How to Fix the “Download Failed Network Error” Issue in Google Chrome

This error appears when Chrome can’t complete a download. It can happen due to internet issues, security settings, or browser problems. Try these fixes.

Check Your Internet Connection

  1. Make sure your internet is working.
  2. Restart your modem or router if needed.

Use a Different Network

  1. Connect to another Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot.
  2. Try downloading the file again.

Disable Antivirus or Firewall Temporarily

  1. Open your antivirus software.
  2. Turn off real-time protection.
  3. Try downloading the file.
  4. Turn protection back on after testing.

Clear Chrome Cache and Cookies

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
  3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  4. Click Clear data.
