How to Restart a Chromebook

Google has finally added an option to restart Chromebooks. You can now restart your Chromebook by clicking the power button and then choosing Restart.

Restarting a Chromebook

A note before we start. The menu item to restart is not available in all Chrome OS versions yet. If you do not see this option on your Chromebook yet, wait a few more weeks and try again.

To restart a Chromebook, first, click the system tray area. This is the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook desktop where the time and battery icons are displayed.

Next, click the power button.

You will now see a menu with additional options. Choose Restart.

    How do I restart my Chromebook if there’s no restart option?  I followed the steps but never saw the restart icon
