Google is Working on ‘Fast Checkout’ for Chrome

It is no secret that Google is toying with the idea of making Chrome a shopping app. We have seen shopping lists and price tracking. The latest shopping-related feature Google wants to add to Chrome is called Fast Checkout.

What is Fast Checkout?

I wish I could answer that question in detail. However, I only have a very limited amount of information at the moment. Here is what we have so far.

There is a new experimental Chrome flag called Fast Checkout:

Fast Checkout: Enables Fast Checkout experiences in Chrome.

One piece of code I spotted here suggests Chrome will ask you “Check out faster?” when this feature is enabled.

We also know that fast check-out involves credit cards. Chrome can save your credit cards at present, so this will be an extension of that.

I am waiting for this feature to land in the Canary channel of Chrome to test it and share screenshots with you. Stay tuned for more updates on this.

I never felt the need for an app or service to make my online shopping faster than it currently is. Do you? Or, is Google planning to offer additional security along with convenience? What do you think? Let me know in the comments form below.
