Google is working on a ‘Support Tool’ for Chrome. The new page is currently under development and available on chrome://support-tool/.
Chrome Support Tool – chrome://support-tool/
A recent code change request suggests that Google is working on a support tool for Chrome. Here is the experimental flag that I spotted on Chrome’s Canary build:
Support Tool: Support Tool collects and exports logs to help debugging the issues. It’s available in chrome://support-tool. – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Fuchsia, Lacros.
I am not sure if this will be used for regular Google Chrome builds or for the enterprise version of Google Chrome or Chrome OS.
Here is what the (very) early version of the support tool looks like:
The code change request talks about a design document. However, it is an internal link we cannot access. So for now, the UI and the flag description are all we have.
Do you have any theories on what this might be? We already have an option to send feedback on Chrome OS. Google Chrome has a “report an issue” link that sends screenshots and additional system details to Google.
So, what’s with this new support tool? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
