How to Rename and Change Color of Chrome Tab Group

Chrome’s Tab Group feature is slowly taking shape. It is not ready for the Stable channel yet, but in the latest version of the Canary channel, you can rename and change colors for individual tab groups.

Change Colors and Rename Tab Groups

To rename or change the color of a tab group, click the group name (a single click would do). You will see the Customize tab group visuals panel.

Customize tab groups

To rename the tab group, enter the new name in the New title field. To change color assigned to the group, pick a new color from the New color dropdown.

Enter a new name and pick a new color.

Click OK when you are done. Your tab group will have a new name and color.

We might see more customization options coming to tab groups. I will keep this article updated as they are added.
