Finally, it is here. Amazon Prime now supports Chromecast.
If you are a Chromecast + Amazon Prime user, download the latest version of the Prime app and you should see the cast option there.
Casting works the same way as any other Chromecast supported app. Open up the app, hit the cast icon. Select your screen and play your favorite video. You can also start playing a video and then tap the familiar Cast icon to get going too.
Chromecast and Amazon Prime users have been waiting for this for a very long time. My wife and I have been waiting for this feature to show up to watch a couple of movies that are Prime exclusive here in India, because they are too beautiful to watch on a small screen. I am sure most of you have a similar story or two to share!
It took an awful lot of time for Google and Amazon to sit together and get this working. It was definitely not a technical challenge, but a business decision. I might even take the liberty of calling it a politically challenge!
If you remember how long it took Amazon to start selling Chromecasts on their store, you will know what I am talking about here.
Anyways, it is finally here and you all can indulge in that movie or series that you have been waiting to watch on the big TV of yours. If you finished watching Season 3 of Stranger Things that is!
I still think they should have launched this on a weekend though. What do you reckon?
