New Chromebooks to Get 1 TB Free Google Drive Storage For 2 Years

Happy Holidays. From Google.

Here is one of the first holiday offers from Google. When you purchase an “eligible” Chromebook this season, you will get 1 TB free Google Drive storage for 2 years. Yes, a bump from 100 GB that you get now.

Here is the official announcement:

Chromebooks make day-to-day computing fast, simple, and secure, whether you’re searching for a great pumpkin pie recipe or sharing a family photo from Google Drive. And now, as a bonus for the holiday season, new Chromebook buyers can get 1TB of Google Drive storage for two years — a $240 value — absolutely free.

That’s enough space to keep more than 100,000 awkward holiday sweater pics safe and shareable in Drive. With that much free storage, you can use your Chromebook for work, play, and pretty much everything else you’ll do this holiday season.

The 1TB comes with the purchase of a new, eligible Chromebook for as little as $199. You’ll find them at these retail stores and online outlets or on Google Play. Just be sure to redeem the offer before January 1, 2015.

Go crazy clicking this season guys.

  1. I tried to redeem the 1 TB with my Asus Chromebox at home, which I bought as soon as they were released, and I had already claimed the 100 GB offer. It said I wasn’t eligible. I had read here and elsewhere that a powerwash might resolve the isssue, but rather than try that right away, I decided to try it from the identical Chromebox my employer had bought for me at work and that I had not tried to redeem anything on. I got the 1 TB right away! Not sure what I’ll do with it, especially for only two years, but it will be awesome to have it if I do come up with a need.
