I was not really happy when LG launched its Chromebase in India a couple of days back. However, the Asus Chromebox somehow makes me happy. Again, I am not super impressed with the pricing, but Chromebox makes sense in India than Chromebase. (I still believe that what we need is more Chromebooks, but you know..)

Asus announced 3 variants of their Chromebox in India. The three models are-Asus Chromebox CN60 (Celeron) at Rs 21,000, Asus Chromebox CN60 (Core i3) at Rs 36,500 and Asus Chromebox CN60 (Core i7) at Rs 58,000. The base model that retails for $179.00 (now $166.51 after discount) costs  Rs 21,000, which is about $342. A huge difference don’t you think? These taxes and stuff!

Here is one more positive thing I noted about this release. They have released 3 variants of the Chromebox here, and not just the base model for the namesake. It gives me hope that they will announce something about their Chromebooks too soon here in India. via IBN Live.
