How to Uninstall Webapps on Google Chrome OS

Forget Everything Else – Read this now !

Remember this post and this post about changing Chrome browser in to Chrome OS in just two clicks ? And yes, that page stopped working as soon as people started using it. But, we have found a save fix, thanks to OMG Ubuntu, a great blog for ubuntu users, and here it is, simple, and easy.

The Chrome OS menu is at http://welcome-cros.appspot.com/menu for now. However, if you access this page directly on Chrome browser, it will not work. So, here is the first step you need to do, make a small change to your browser settings

  • Right click on the Google Chrome Browser icon on your desktop.
  • Select “Properties”
  • Look for “Target”
  • In the  ”Target” box, after chrome.exe” put a space, and add the following line of code
  • -user-agent=”Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; CrOS i686 9.10; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.253.0 Safari/532.5″ -pinned-tab-count=1
  • Now, Click “Apply” and then “OK”
  • Now go to “Options” menu in Google Chrome settings.
  • Under “Home Page”, select ” Open This Page”
  • Enter http://welcome-cros.appspot.com/menu
  • Hit “close”
  • Restart your Chrome browser, and ROCK ON !!

Google has released a new stable version of Chrome with more features, and increased browsing speed. More features have been added, so, check it out.

If you are wondering how to update Google Chrome to the latest version, listen, Google Chrome will it to automatically when you connect to the web. If you just started today’s browsing, you may close your browser once and then open it again, you should get those features ( update requires restart for changes to take effect ).

So, what are those new features being added here ?

  • More Speed : New version of webkit will give you more speed, especially on javascripts. Google chrome team is concentrating on browsing speed a lot, and they give you more speed with each of their updates. Sounds good, and hope it will get better, and will bring more users for google chrome.
  • Annoyed of New Tab Page showing your favourites ? : Manage them better, now you can remove or restore website thumbnails from the list.  We had reported this feature with screenshots, earlier. ( this is why you have to subscribe to our rss feed, to know about upcoming features ! )
  • Full Screen Mode : press F11 , that’s the shortcut for fullscreen mode on Google Chrome, now this feature is on your stable version. Again, we had reported this feature on dev versions long back.
  • Form Autofil: Another feature that you are expecting, form autofil also has been added to this new version.

Some more reasons to switch to Google Chrome. Tell your friends, and their friends, tweet this information, share it and let us bring more and more people in to Google Chrome Community !! Also, be sure to subscribe to RSS feed of this site, because this week, I am going to update you all on a new feature I found today on the dev version, something that lets you open your last session when you open Google Chrome.

Add Twitter Tweet Button to Any Website using Chrome

I know you love twitter, and that’s why you are here.  I  am also a huge twitter fan (Click to Follow me) .  But, I was active while tweeting from twitter.com, which is kinda boring and not so easy to use, right ? I became a better twitizen after installing Chrome Extension for twitter.

{  Update:  10 Excellent Twitter Extensions for Google Chrome }

My favorite Google Chrome Extension for Twitter is ChromeBird. I will also introduce you to two other plugins, doing some interesting things on twitter, from Chrome Browser.

Chrome Bird.

ChromeBird_Chrome_extension

Chrome Bird, like any other Google Chrome extension, is easy to install. Once installed, you can  save your twitter username and password, and you are ready to rock !

Tweeting, retweeting, Sending Direct Messages and @ replies, are all easy using Chrome Bird. The latest version supports Twitter Lists too.

The notification icon is next to the search bar, and it will update your tweets automatically at certain intervals. Number of unread tweets are shown in red text.

Twitter Pulse

Twitter Pulse helps you quickly and easily discover the most retweeted articles (and URLs) on your favorite websites and blogs. When you are on a blog or website, click on the icon and the extension will show you most tweeted articles from that website.

Search Twitter.

Easily Search for anything from twitter.com, using this simlple extension.  This is a quick way to search real time news and much more while using Google Chrome.

OLD POST:

TIP: Want to Know When a Plugin is available for twitter ? Bookmark this blog or subscribe to RSS or via Email, We will keep you posted !! its FREE

I was thinking about the time when Google Chrome will officially start supporting plugins. Which plugin will be the most wanted plugin ?

I believe it will be Twitter plugin, something similar to twitterfox, a firefox plugin for twitter. With the growing number of twitter users the demand for such a plugin also, have become so huge. When plugins are ready, it will be the most downloaded plugin, I believe.

Another interesting thing to notice, will be the compeition among plugin developers to be the most downloaded plugin for Twitter on Google Chrome platform. Who will make it big this time ?  I think, most of those plugin developers will have their plans ready, and most of their code too already.
