Your New Google Chrome – More Speed, More Style
An year after it’s first release, Google Chrome has a new stable release today, with a long list of new features and improvements. Let’s take a look at what they are.
Before we start, let me tell you something, if you have are a regular reader of ChromeStory.com, none of these features will be news to you, because I always bring you the latest news on new features, while it is still being developed. But still, if you were not using Dev or Beta version of Chrome, it will be fun to go through them again, and start using these cool features ! So, read on.
Faster Page Loading and Java
I have experienced this difference ever since I started using Google Chrome, and it got better day by day. For me, this is the fastest application on my desktop, which starts within a second when Clicked. And on Java script processing, this version is 150% better than the very first release of Google Chrome. Speed really matters when you are online, so you can’t ignore Google Chrome’s achievement here. Kudos !
Sexy New Tab Pages.
You know what’s the best thing about Google Chrome that I love ? Its this : When Google Chrome first came out, most of the complaints and criticisms I heard was about the new tab page, showing the most visited websites to everyone, no option to re order or remove something from there etc. Now, this very new tab page is the most appreciated feature of Google Chrome.
Why ? Some serious work has gone in to the design and abilities of this page. Now you can remove websites from this page, re order, make them a list, and more. Read all about it here, my old post here.
Themes !!
Yes, themes are now available for all Google Chrome users. If you are looking for a change, try them !. It’s really easy to change the theme here. Go to the Theme Gallery, and click on “apply theme” link next to the theme of your choice, and you are done ! You can always go back to the default theme if you want to.
HTML5 capabilities
HTML 5 is being added to Chrome with this release. In Google’s Words,
We’re very excited about HTML5 becoming standard in modern browsers, and continued to add HTML5 capabilities to this stable release. We’re particularly excited about the <video> tag in HTML5, which makes embedding videos in a page as simple as embedding regular images. The <video> tag also allows video playback without a plug-in
So, here is what you should do now, share this information with your non-chroming friend, and make them use Google chrome

New Beta Release for Google Chrome !!
Google released a new beta for Google Chrome. They have added the beta channel back, for some feedback, since the new release has some important features added to it.
The best thing about this new beta is speed — it’s 25% faster on our V8 benchmark and 35% faster on the Sunspider benchmark than the current stable channel version and almost twice as fast when compared to our original beta version.
Some of the new features you can try out include form autofill, full page zoom and autoscroll(both thanks to a new version of WebKit), and a cool new way to drag tabs out to get a side-by-side view.
Do you want to try this new version ? I will tell you how to change to beta channel : here

Google Chrome ? What is it ?
If you do not know it yet, Google Chrome is a Web Browser developed by the team at Google. It is based on the Chromium open source browser project. At present, Google has only the windows version of Chrome released and they are working on the Mac and Linux versions of it.
I use browsers all the time, like everyone else and I use many of them and that made me compare Google Chrome with other browsers. This blog, is the result of that observation that I have been doing , experiments, and researches I did about Google Chrome, while trying to know more about it.
