Google Chrome Tips

Apple released Safari 5 recently with extensions and couple of nice features. “Reader” being one of the highlights among these new stuff. With the help of extensions, we can get these features working on Google Chrome too !

Reader / Readbility

readbility chrome

Readability is a simple tool that makes reading on the Web more enjoyable by removing the cluter around what you’re reading. On Google chrome, you can get this by installing this Extension.  Simple !

Dictionary Popup

Looking at the Safari 5′s dictionary popup and wondering how to get that on Chrome ? Again, an extension makes your wish come true ! A official Google extension at that !

Recommended. I use this daily. Double click on a word, and you have the meaning !

Grammar Checking

grammar check chrome

Browsers now concentrate on checking spelling of stuff you type in when you are online. Safari 5 has option to check your grammar. But wait, we have a google chrome extension for this !

After the Deadline uses artificial intelligence to check spelling, style, and grammar. Use it to check your tweets, find mistakes in your email, and socialize with confidence

Install from here

This is a guest GREAT post by Geek107 He explains how to enable Google’s new SSL search as default in Google Chrome’s Addressbar /Omnibar without an extension.

If you like having a super-secure browser (read as chrome ;) ) I’m sure you’ll want to have this feature in chrome: Google’s SSL Search as your default search engine from Omnibar. Here is an easy way to do it.
Right Click on the omnibar and select the ‘Edit Search Engines’ option.
chrome google ssl search
You will now see the Seach Engine Window. Click the ‘Add’ button:
chrome google ssl search
Now write what you want for the first two inputs. The url is ‘https://www.google.com/search?hl=all&sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s
chrome google ssl search
Now Click add and test out your new secure search engine! Enjoy ! hmm and, don’t forget the comment box !
