How to Opt Out of Google Analytics Tracking using a Chrome Extension

Google Analytics is free service offered by Google for webmasters and blog owners to track details about their visitors. It is a very useful tool for monitoring site traffic and it gives a pretty neat report.

Well, that’s for the webmaster/blogger. What about you, the visitor ? Google Analytics is collecting some data about your browsing behavior using a small javascript. This is something that many of them are concerned about. Google now offers an option for you to opt out of this tracking, or tell the website with google analytics not to collect data about you.

Google has built a Chrome Extension to make this easier. Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on. Simply install this extension, and you are good.The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics.

Try the ChromeBlock extension which does a lot more than just opting out of a small list
