Google Chrome Gives Choice of Search Engine on First Run – Really ?

by Dinu on 23/07/2010

On the first run of a latest Google Chrome version, it asked me to select my Search engine. There was Yahoo Google and Bing. I noticed this on the new Canary build of Google Chrome. It came as a different popup menu.

I agree that you have the option of changing your search engine at anytime, or to use SSL search on Google Chrome. However, giving such a choice on the first run is a really bold move from a company which has its biggest share of revenue from Search products.

Canary build is a new developer version that Google has released for those who wants to use a stable or beta version and a dev version for testing purposes. Read more about canary build here, plus the download link.
