Adblock for Google Chrome Gets Better

by Dinu on 21/07/2010

no ads on chrome

Good news for Adblock lovers. The extension can now block ads even before they are downloaded/loaded on the browser. Earlier, Adblock on chrome used to let the ads actually load, and then use some coding tricks to hide them on the page.

Things got better recently.

DownloadSquad reports that a latest change by Apple on the webkit engine helped Chrome to bring this feature on our favorite browser.

We can feel the excitement of its developers here on the extension page.  ”New in version 2.0: Ads are actually BLOCKED FROM DOWNLOADING now, instead of just being removed after the fact!” they wrote.

Personally, I do not use adblock extension and consider ads as part of my browsing experience. What are your thoughts ? Do you use this extension ?

This is great news, I hate ads. It will be beneficial as pages will load faster on slower connections (such as when I am mobile).
