Surprised ? I am blogging about Google chrome everyday here, and I stopped using it ? Well, its true, to some extend. I stopped using Google Chrome, and Started using Daily Developer Builds of Chromium browser, the big daddy of Google Chrome.
Why ?
Short answer is “For you”
I use developer version of Google chrome, so that I will get to taste and tell you about the latest features of Google chrome. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you might have noticed that I write about most of Upcoming Google Chrome features even before they enter the Beta or Stable versions.
This is possible because of Developer version of Google chrome, and taking the risk of using things while being developed.
Few days back, thanks to a great reader here, Micser told me about a new feature on chrome which was missing even in the Dev version that I was using. When I emailed him, he told me that this feature is available on bleeding edge ( or developer builds ) of Chromium.
The next thing I did was installing Chromium !
Hmm, I was getting error messages while trying to install it on Windows, but I found a quick fix. Reboot laptop and login to Ubuntu
and here I am writing this blog post from Ubuntu – Chromium dev version. Everything for chromestory.com and all my readers ! Now we will stay one more step ahead of the news ! thanks Micser !
Bonus feature that I got – The ChromeOS menu works fine without making any change in the command line !
What is the feature that I was looking for ? Is Chromium browser different from chrome browser – in speed, looks etc ?
I will tell you more about this soon !
