Translation Bar has hit the beta channel for Chrome now
Okay, I could have avoided that smiley, I know, there are people who are happy with the translation bar, and there are people who are getting annoyed with the translation bar. But again, its a good feature, provided there is an option to disable it.
So we have the new beta release today with the Translation Bar and more content privacy settings. I told you guys about the translation bar few days back when I first noted it. Read it here for more info
Content Privacy Settings
From these settings, you can control how browser cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-ins, and pop-ups are handled on a site-by-site basis. For example, you can set up cookie rules to allow cookies specifically only for sites that you trust, and block cookies from untrusted sites.
I was worried about chrome not giving enough options to control browsing history, so that we will have more privacy there. The content privacy settings seems good, and there is something new coming in. Its called Chrome History API. This is still under development or “experimental” as they call it. But, once this is added to stable versions, we will see addons which will give more controls to history as I discussed in that post. If you want to know more about this, you can read it here.
Now here is a video of the new translation bar.
