Google Chrome team thinks that there is no need of confirmation when we close multiple tabs. They want to make it to easier close whenever we want to.
And there is something wrong here.
If you are accidentally closing a window while streaming video, or while doing something important on a website, like an online transaction – chrome will close the browser ( all tabs ) without asking you for a confirmation.
We need to fix this.
Here is an extension this extension will ask for confirmation before closing. It works by adding special events to the two left-most tabs in every window, then toggling which is active based on what tab is selected. This was inspired by the Window Close Protector extension.
There are few issues with the extension which the developer is working on -
Doesn’t protect tabs that are already open. You’ll have to restart Chrome before the extension starts working.
* Doesn’t work 100% of the time. For instance, it won’t work on chrome:// or file:// sites.
* You may sometimes have to click “Leave this page” twice before the browser closes.

Hey that’s an add-on that might get me back to using Chrome again.
I used to get irritated when I accidentally click on close button and all tabs close without confirmation!
@ Balu
glad to know that ! I was also irritated with this missing confirmation while closing tabs ..
This thing Totally SUCKS in Google Chrome. You Need a extension to implement a basic(Basic!!!) feature, absolutely necessary. UserInterface simplification Totally SUCKS.
Firefox, Opera are for normal people. Chrome is for those who Want they browser to Obey.
you should see the latest development then
they are removing the go button !
What is the name of the add on, you have a bad link
you can add this extension (Window Close Protector)
It’s such a shame that we have to rely on a plugin to implement such a basic feature. Amazing how a dev. team can almost ruin an otherwise excellent product with this kind of “non-choice”.
Anyway, this issue, AND the fact that Chrome warns Gmail as “insecure content”, and a few other things, brought me back to Firefox.
What’s up with all this racken children you have been told while growing all your life, some people likes and want this, what you want and desire on your site has nothing to do with what the next person want ! when someone ask for help you can choose to help or not. the thing is someone may need this help because of a ability. be careful. you would not like it if you needed help and someone dismissed you with a down message and told everyone, just keep it better by not saying anything. thank you grandmother tlady…..
