Post image for ChromePlus – Another Chromium Based Browser

Picture of Chrome Plus

Did you know that Google Chrome is not the only Chromium based Web Browser ? Okay, read on, Here is ChromePlus, another Chromium based browser.

note: I haven’t tried this myself, I may as soon as I get time. If you guys can try this out and share a review here, you are always welcome !

The website says,  ”ChromePlus has all the functionalities that Google Chrome has. More, ChromePlus added some useful features such as Mouse gesture, Super drag, IE tab, etc. Meanwhile, ChromePlus is free with no function limitation and you can use ChromePlus to surf the internet in any case

Check out the features page here for more information on the additional stuff available on this browser. I liked the “double click to close the tab” feature. The  ”Super Drag” or “Drag text to search” feature is actually available on Google Chrome, so its not a big deal, even IE tab and and other features listed there can be added to Google Chrome with extensions.

Chrome Plus is available for Linux too !. For people who love to play with different browsers, this should be another interesting one ! Don’t forget to post your comments here !

Coming Soon – Sync Everything on Google Chrome

by chrome story on March 31, 2010 · 4 comments

 Picture of Chorme Profile Sync

Remember, I told you few weeks back that next big thing on Google Chrome will be Full User Profile Sync – Synching all your browsing history, theme, plugins – everything ? We have a good news about this upcoming feature.

A change has landed in the Chromium source code which adds initial support for theme syncing to Chrome. Other settings — your autofill data, options screen preferences, and URLs you type into the Omnibar — have been present for some time now.

Google Chrome will use your Google Dcos account to store all this information online. ( If you go to Google Docs now, you should see your bookmarks available there already )

If you are someone like me who use different Operating systems ( I use XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu ), this will be really helpful. You will have 100% similar browsing environment on all those platforms. If you use multiple computers, say one laptop and one netbook or desktop, or personal computer and work computer, you can sync your browser seamlessly with all these systems, and have all your settings shared and synched automatically.

Wait for the show ! Stay tuned for more updates. ( Click on the glass of beer to subscribe lol ! :D )

Adobe Flash is Now “Built In” to Google Chrome

by chrome story on March 30, 2010 · 1 comment

So, rumors were true. Google Chrome team has announced a deal with Adobe which integrates Flash in to Google Chrome browser.

{ dear friend, please digg the story here – if you liked it ! }

What will you get ?

No need of downloading flash or updating flash on your own !

  • When users download Chrome, they will also receive the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. There will be no need to install Flash Player separately.
  • Users will automatically receive updates related to Flash Player using Google Chrome’s auto-update mechanism. This eliminates the need to manually download separate updates and reduces the security risk of using outdated versions.
  • With Adobe’s help, we plan to further protect users by extending Chrome’s “sandbox” to web pages with Flash content.

This feature is now available on Google Chrome developer channel. ( Click Here if you want to know how to change to developer channel ) Soon this feature will be available for all Google Chrome Users, making it more stable and fast, as far as handling Flash content is concerned.

How to Enable

add –enable-internal-flash to your command line or shortcut for starting Google Chrome. ( Detailed steps available here, just change the code )
