Really Really New To all this buzz about Google Chrome OS ? You are at the right place, let’s begin with what Google Says about Chrome OS. This is a small and simple post. But if you are really new to this subject, thank God for sending you here !
Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010
Now, follow this small and simple list of facts
- Google Is developing this new OS
- It is based on Linux
- It is a “Browser Based Operating System”
- Will released and open sourced in 2010
- Initially, it will run on Netbooks
- Later, we will see it on Laptops and PCs.
- It will be free
- Following companies are working on Chrome os : Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.

Although they have said it will be released as software likely later this year (around the same time as Win7 maybe?) with the H2 2010 timescale for being available prepacked onto hardware with the above manufacturers.
So hopefully we will be able to test it out a bit sooner. I certainly will be trying it out on my little ASUS eeepc 704 as soon as it becomes available, since its so easy to revert to original settings.

I am thinking about testing it on my Laptop when its available, but not sure how it is going to be released, only for netbooks or both netbooks and laptops ?
